This framed acrylic painting was inspired by a statue at the Cleveland Museum of Art. I turned it into a fancy vase, complete with a flower arrangement in which a tiny frog is resting. There are a few collage elements buried under the layers of acrylic paint, which give this painting depth and texture (see closeups).
The painting alone measures 20 x 16 x .75 inches. With the frame, it measures 21.5 x 17.5 x 1.5. The "floater" frame is painted black on the sides and inside rim and silver on the front. This type of frame creates a narrow space between the painting and the inside rim of the frame, showing off the painting's depth.
